Toronto Star - Mission, and its volunteers, deliver Christmas dinner - Debra Black
For the past 30 years Elaine Rennie has performed a kind of Christmas
miracle, devoting her holiday to those less fortunate. Every year –
come snow or sleet – Rennie can be found in the Scott Mission kitchen
helping cook and serve the hungry and the homeless at the annual
Christmas Day lunch.

Toronto Sun - Scott Mission opens holiday doors
The Scott Mission Lodge in Collingwood, Ontario, is used as a
retreat centre to give our guests a time of comfort and rest away from
the city (click here
for a map). The Lodge is located on 113 beautiful acres on the Blue
Mountain overlooking Georgian Bay. This land was a gift to the Mission
in honour of our founder, Rev. Morris Zeidman.
The
Lodge has comfortable accomodations for up to 30 guests. The peace and
tranquility of the Lodge allows guests to experience the beauty of
God's creation and brings relaxation, restoration and hope. For some,
this is the only opportunity to get out of the city and break the cycle
of isolation and loneliness.
Our Guests
The Men's Ministry takes groups of homeless men to the Lodge for retreats. A
work program is also in place for them as they participate in the
various maintenance jobs on the property.
The Women & Family Ministry takes groups of women to the Lodge for a time of refreshment and rest.
