When hope leads to transformation
If there was ever someone who needed a new beginning, it’s Vladimir.
Vladimir fled the Soviet Union for Canada to start a new life. After fighting in the Soviet army in Afghanistan, he struggled to escape the effects that war had on him.
Eventually, he ended up living on the streets of Toronto—struggling with addiction, hunger, and overwhelmed by hopelessness.
Vladimir didn’t want to sleep in the parks. He didn’t want to find his only shelter beneath a public bench. But he had nowhere to go… and he felt so isolated and alone.
Thank God Vladimir found the care and support he needed at Scott Mission.
Easter Miracles. New Beginnings.
You Help Make Them All Possible at Scott Mission!
Because of your support, Vladimir was surrounded by a community of people filled with love and compassion who were eager to see him thrive. Your generosity provided the nutritious meals he needed, the safe shelter he craved, and the support he desired to overcome his challenges.
More importantly, because of you, Vladimir gave his life to Christ and was recently baptized.
“Scott Mission is a really big family,” Vladimir says. “It’s a safe place from God. They gave me hope.”
When Vladimir learned that people like you helped support his transformation, he replied, “It’s amazing. It’s really a miracle. For the people who give, I thank God for you. Thank you!”
Thank you for making the miracle of new beginnings possible at Scott Mission at Easter, and every day of the year.
