Scott Mission is pleased to welcome Tom Lappala as Chief Development Officer.

Tom Lappala is a sales and business development executive known for building high-trust teams and delivering growth in competitive markets. His experience spans sales management, marketing and organizational leadership, including turnarounds, acquisitions, and hard-fought market share battles. His people-first approach to building trust, communicating vision, and inspiring others to invest has produced significant results across both business and ministry platforms.

Tom has led high-performing teams in competitive business-to-business markets in the sportswear and fashion industries, managing portfolios of $20 to $45 million in revenue, most prominently as Executive Vice President of Sales for Golf Town’s Corporate Division. He began his career at Muskoka Woods Sports Resort, a youth-focused nonprofit, where he spent twelve years. As Associate Director, he shaped culture, developed leaders, and grew programs that served thousands of young people.

Known for his relational, coaching style of leadership, Tom believes excellence flows from an environment that sparks innovation, rewards initiative, and promotes joy. The son of missionaries — and married to the daughter of missionaries — he has lived at the intersection of ministry and business his whole life. Tom makes his home in Uxbridge, Ontario with his wife, Heather. “My passion is coaching — I live and breathe it. I love participating in the success of others: family, friends, athletes, and partners in business.”

Tom will lead efforts to grow and strengthen the relationships that fuel Scott Mission’s mission. His focus will be on engaging donors, partners, and communities in creating lasting impact for those we serve across Toronto.
We are excited to welcome Tom to Scott Mission and look forward to the leadership and experience he brings to the team.

Blessings,
