Volunteer Opportunities

Kitchen

  • Duties: Assist with basic food preparation and cleaning as per instructions from the supervising staff.
    * hours vary slightly depending on location
  • Monday to Friday
  • Mornings: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Afternoons: 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • *Closed Wednesday Afternoons
  • Locations: 346 Spadina Avenue and 5 McLachlan Drive.

Distribution

  • Duties: Sorting, portioning, and packaging fresh produce and non-perishable items to be given out at our food banks.
  • Monday to Friday
  • Mornings: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Afternoons: 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • *Closed Wednesday Afternoons
  • Location: 5 McLachlan Drive.

Food Bank

  • Duties: Handing out grocery items to our guests.
  • Monday to Friday
  • Mornings: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Afternoons: 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • *Closed Wednesday Afternoons
  • Location: 346 Spadina Avenue.

Clothing Bank

  • Duties: Help our guests choose clothing. Restocking and organizing the clothing area.
  • Monday to Friday
  • Mornings: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Afternoons: 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • *Closed Wednesday Afternoons
  • Location: 346 Spadina Avenue.

Shelter

  • Duties: Provide the men in our care with toiletries and towels for a shower, assist residences in the laundry room, helping with drinks and snacks, help residences with gym equipment and exercising. Must be 18+.
  • Kitchen Duties: Helping to plate food, prep the desserts (cut the cake/muffins), wipe down the counter, set up the dining room, clean/sanitize the tables and chairs.
  • Monday to Sunday

    Weekday Evenings: 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
