“I don’t know how to survive out there,” he shared with our caring staff.

Through the generosity of partners like you, Kevin found safe shelter, a much-needed meal, and an abundance of kindness.

“I was kind of shocked. The staff were just so nice. They gave me food, and it was good food,” Kevin says, remembering the day his feelings of hopelessness turned into hope.
Since that day, Kevin has also learned he is loved by God, which encouraged him to nurture his spiritual growth. “I do the Bible study, and I feel closer with God now,” he says.

But the greatest relief for Kevin is he now has access to Scott Mission’s professional counsellors, who are working closely with him to improve his mental health. This has helped him tremendously in overcoming barriers to living and working independently—with confidence! 

“I want to say thank you for allowing me into this home for warmth, clothes, food, and shelter. The Mission is doing a good job; that’s what I think,” he says with a smile.
