Chimar is a Scott Mission Camp veteran.
At 16 years of age, he can’t remember a summer without camp! He says he hopes never to miss the opportunity to celebrate his love of God in the great outdoors and visit with all the wonderful friends he’s made over the years.
“Camp is great,” he says with a broad smile. “You get to learn a bunch of stuff. Worship (music) time is amazing because you get to praise the Lord. It’s like you’re reaching out to God and He’s reaching back. It’s a great experience.
“I also like the Bible lessons because my faith was never strong until I learned how our sins are forgiven and how God’s with you no matter what.”
Chimar knows that donor support makes Scott Mission Camp available to over 600 girls and boys like him each year for both summer camp and winter youth retreats at our campgrounds in Caledon. He is truly thankful to be among those who get the opportunity to attend camp each year.
When Chimar recommends Scott Mission Camp to other children, he tells them, “It’s a great experience. You’ll love it. Once you get here, you won’t want to leave!”
