Scott Mission is a beacon of hope for people facing hunger, homelessness, or other life-dominating challenges. Many who come looking for help and hope have lost a job, are battling a devastating illness or injury, or have experienced the recent death of a loved one. But with help from caring friends and supporters like you, struggling neighbours can find a meal, safe shelter, fellowship, and hope.
Mo came to Scott Mission to sit and visit with others who were hoping for a good, hot meal and safe refuge from our freezing winter weather.
There was a time when Mo was hungry, homeless, and without a job. He is grateful that he found the life-transforming care he needed, plus a loving and accepting fellowship at Scott Mission—especially during the holidays, which might have been a time of hunger and loneliness for him.
“The meals are good, and you get the feeling you’ll bump into someone you know,” he says. “It doesn’t matter if you’re homeless—you can still go in.”
Mo is rebuilding his life and has recently moved into an apartment of his own. But he continues to find community with the staff, volunteers, and others who are receiving meals, help, and hope from the Mission.
