For Mya, Camp Is All about Friendship and Faith

Mya credits the ten years she’s been able to attend Scott Mission Camp, and all the other youth ministry offerings at Scott Mission, with molding her into a young adult who knows she is on the right path in life.

Now a poised and confident teenager, she’s ready to share all she’s learned with all the new campers who will be attending camp for the first time this summer. Her hope is that they will have a wonderful and impactful first experience, just as she did!

“My first memories of Scott Mission Camp are of all the people, the energy,” she says with a broad smile. “Everyone was so excited and happy to be here. I loved canoeing, hanging out with old friends, and making new ones.”

And leaving the hardships of the city can be a blessing for many. “It’s a nice getaway from everything that’s going on at home or in my neighbourhood,” she says. “You come here for a week and get to experience so many activities, but at the same time, you’re getting closer to God and building your relationship with Him.”

Mya is just one of dozens of teens who have the opportunity to participate in Scott Mission Camp’s Foundations Program each year. This unique outreach trains and equips young people to hone their leadership skills so they can serve as camp counsellors one day and step into their futures with confidence.

This summer, children and teens will gather in Caledon for an amazing, life-changing week of friendship and faith. Please make a gift now so under-resourced boys and girls will have the opportunity to experience Scott Mission Camp!
