The worldwide pandemic affected schools and businesses everywhere, pushing struggling families to the brink of homelessness. For at-risk boys and girls, no school meant nutritious meals were even harder to come by . . . and long, long days without spending time with friends.
As March and April came to an end, emails, phone calls, texts, and social media posts were all abuzz with the same question, “Will there be a Scott Mission Camp this summer?”
For over 60 years, Scott Mission Camp has been the highlight of summer for teens and youth as they learn of God’s love in a beautiful wilderness setting. But not in 2020 . . . leadership couldn’t risk exposing hundreds of boys and girls to the deadly coronavirus.
The announcement for this year’s camp cancellation brought great disappointment to children and teens who were counting the days until heading to camp, but they found comfort in a rallying cry, “We’ll see you NEXT YEAR at Scott Mission Camp!”
Thank you for your ongoing support of The Scott Mission’s many youth outreaches. Countless young lives have come to faith and found a better path in life through this vital ministry.
