Addie* first came to our O’Connor Family Centre hoping to find daycare for her toddler. The young mother was astonished at every turn by the warmth and professionalism of the daycare staff, and she was deeply touched that caring friends like you make so many vital services available to families like hers.
Addie needed to find quality and affordable daycare for her little one. It was a challenging task, until she heard about The Scott Mission . . .
“I’d just moved into the area, and they had a spot available at the O’Connor Family Centre,” Addie says, remembering her first visit. “When I walked in, they were very warm and smiling. It felt like family. It’s not just a daycare, and my son is always happy and excited to come here.”
Addie values that the daycare focuses on a holistic, family-centred approach to childcare. They follow the most current early education practice, and the teaching team creates a warm, caring, interactive atmosphere in which every child can grow and learn.
Christmas is an especially joy-filled time for the little ones. Addie says, “They had a Christmas party, and it almost made me want to cry. It was just so beautiful, so warm . . . so family.”
Having access to the food bank and other help is also a blessing to her family, so she is truly grateful for caring friends who support The Scott Mission. “Thank you for all you do, not only for my child, but the community’s kids, too. You’re providing them with the most wonderful upbringing and helping us raise our kids in this busy world. Thank you so much. We appreciate you!”
